2014 Bone Bender Course Map

Course for this years Bone Bender is below.  This is our planned course, but could be modified based on course conditions next weekend.

 
Solo Marathon Participants will complete 3 laps for a total of 60K (37 miles).  Solo XC (Short) participants will complete 1 lap for a total of 12.5 miles.  Expected lap times will be from 1:00 to 1:30 based on fitness and skill level.

Teams are currently set to  do 4 laps.

Bone Bender Updates - 4/2/14

Time is fast approaching for the 6th Annual Bone Bender Mountain Bike Challenge.  This years event is shaping up to be another great one.  We again have Hammer Nutrition as our official sponsor of this years aid stations. Look for Heed and Hammer Gels at our aid station out on course.  

Speaking of the course.  We have had a lot of requests for a course map.  We will post the official course map later this week.  I will say this about the course.  I personally love it and not just because I designed it.  It is a very fun and balanced course with a something for all skill levels.  The length is 12.5 miles and includes single track (lots of that super fun blue trail and plenty of white to keep us all honest) double track and hills - yes Bunker Hill is back.

A little over a week left to get registered.  There is still time to get an event t-shirt.  The first 125 riders are guaranteed a t-shirt. Register today - Bone Bender Registration.

Bone Bender Updates - 03/25/14

Only 3 more weeks until the Bone Bender Mountain Bike Challenge.  We are also excited that this years event will also serve as the 2014 South Central Marathon Championships.  

The 2014 Entry List has been updated.

Due to a registration problem we are extending our early registration deadline until 3/22/14. 

Early entry and t-shirt deadlines for this years Bone Bender are listed below. 

If you are registering for a team just select the team option and register.  Each teammate will register individually.  We will contact you asking your team name.

Note: Open Category Marathon divisions will be divided into 10 year age groups.  For Example, the Male All Cat 1 division for the Bone Bender Marathon will be divided into Male 19-29, 30-39,40-49.
 

Marathon option:

Before 3/22/14 - $45.00 Individual / $60.00 Teams ($30.00 Per member)
After 3/2214 - $55.00 Individual / $70.00 Teams ($35.00 Per member)
After 4/10/14 - $65.00 Individual / $80.00 Teams ($40.00 Per member)

XC/Short Course option:

Before 3/15/14 - $25.00 Individual / $15.00 Juniors
After 3/15/14 - $35.00 Individual / $25.00 Juniors
After 4/10/14 - $45.00 Individual / $35.00 Juniors

T-shirts are free with entry.  T-shirt deadline for both  events is 3/25/14.    We need to place our order at this time. 

6th Annual Bone Bender Mountain Bike Challenge

The 6th Annual Bone Bender Mountain Bike Challenge.  Come join off-road enthusiasts from around the Midwest as they test themselves on the North Shore Trail System.   

New this year is our distance events with the Bone Bender becoming a Marathon distance (60K+).  We will also have a Shorter XC event of 15 miles.

This year the Bone Bender Mountain Bike Challenge has been awarded the Regional championship by USA Cycling.   Participants in this years event will be racing for the South Central Regional Marathon Championship - 10 year age-groups in Cat1, Cat2 & Cat 3.

Registration is now open.  Early Bird Entry ends 3/7/14 so register today and save.  Regular registration to guarantee t-shirt 3/28/14 or when entry limit is reached.

Bone Bender Course Conditions and Forecast

The forecast is looking very nice for the 5th Annual Bone Bender 3/6 Hour MTB Odyssey.   The trails at Clinton Lake should be in great shape come Sunday morning for this years event.   We currently expect to use all the 2013 Bone Bender Course.  Updates on course condition will be posted Friday night and Saturday when the course will be marked.

Do not forget online registration closes tonight.  Packet pickup and late registration will be available starting tomorrow at The Wheel Cyclery in Kansas City, MO.  More info to follow.

Bone Bender Aid Stations Fueled by Hammer

Hammer Nutrition is the presenting sponsor for this years aid station.  Currently we are planning to have a fully stocked aid station at the Lake Henry turn-around point of the course.

So you will not end up looking like the poor rider below, aid Stations for this years Bone Bender will again be well stocked with water, Hammer HEED energy replacement drink, Hammer Gel (variety of flavors), salty snacks, sweet snacks, fresh fruit, and some other goodies provided by the Cow Town Cycling Team and The Wheel Cyclery.

A big part of endurance racing is keeping your body fueled up.  We will do our part to help you keep your body properly fueled and ready to complete this years Bone Bender successfully by having well stocked aid stations.

T-shirt Guarentee Deadline

3 weeks until the big day.  Registrations have been flowing in.  Currently we have 96 registered which is about normal.  Usually the last two weeks riders register and get us close to our 300 rider deadline.

With the event approaching t-shirts are being ordered.  This years shirt will be a nice technical performance type shirt.  Please register by this Friday (3/29/13) to guarantee your t-shirt.

Also please note that the early entry discount ends on 4/1/13.
