***Bone Bender Postponed***

The official word from the trail boss....

Well folks, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this latest round of rain just put us over the top on soaking the trails and making them un-rideable for this coming weekend. Sorry but we will have to postpone the Bonebender MTB race until the scheduled make up date of April 18^th comes around.

I am just as bummed as you are about this but the volunteers who build and maintain all these sweet trails will appreciate your respect of the trails by not wanting to damage them with a race in muddy conditions.

Thanks for your understanding and I look forward to seeing all of you at the Bonebender MTB race on April 18^th!

Bone Bender Update

We have received a lot of emails regarding current course conditions for this weekends Bone Bender 3/6 Hour MTB Odyssey. Currently the trails at Smithville Lake are closed due to recent snow fall and rains. We are watching the weather closely and hoping that any more rain stays away giving the trails time enough to dry for Saturday's event.

In the event that we have to postpone the event to April 18th, 2009, we will make that final call by this Wednesday.

8:00am start time (John and I will be on-site at 7:00am if anyone is interested in a early lap)

Here are the directions to the trail head: directions from nearest town: Travel North through Smithville and further for about 4 miles on 169 Highway. Turn right (East) on "W" Highway, and travel to the bridge over the lake. Keep traveling farther on "W" Highway for a few hundred yards to a paved parking lot (Smoken Davey Trailhead) on the right. As you leave this lot on bike or foot, look for the carsonite markers as you can go West (right) into Lakeside Speedway or East (left) into T-N-T, or South on the County paved trail.

Smithville Trail Work Day

This Saturday, February 21st is a trail work day at Smithville. Getting everything ready for the upcoming Bone Bender. We will ride/hike/run at 8:00AM and work at 9:30. We have lots of little "honey doo's" and a couple log skinnies to build so come out if you can.........

Updated Bone Bender Flyer

Here is the updated flyers - add Junior class for the 3 hour and a "fun" team class for the 6 hours.

Hope everyone has been training. Only one month left :-)

New Classes Added

Just a reminder for those who have not noticed. We have added two additional classes.

A Junior event has been added to the 3 hour and a Open Fun Team to the 6 hour event.

Again, registration is open at Sports Base Online. Register online to receive a free event t-shirt and be entered into the SWAG drawing.

Race day registration is available beginning at 9:00 am. Registration closes at 11:30 am on race day.
