Bone Bender Update 4/15/12

Yesterday's packet pickup went very well. We are up to 275 entries including the participants that signed up yesterday. Today's packet pickup begins at 7:30 am and closes 9:30 am. If you were not able to register onsite yesterday we are accepting a limited number of race day entries.

The course conditions as of yesterday evening were excellent with the entire course dry. As of 2:00 am Sunday morning we only received .17 inch of rain.

Bone Bender Update 4/13/12

Just wanted to send out another short update...

Don't forget that onsite registration and packet pickup is open tomorrow from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm.

Sunday morning we will have coffee, cookies and banana bread available. Mr. Pot Pie has a nice dinner planned for us - Fried Chicken with Macaroni and Cheese as a side dish.

As of Friday evening the course is in very good condition. We spent the entire day preparing the course(s) and finish line area. We also went ahead and mowed the rain course option just in case we need it. Hopefully we will not, but we want to be prepared just in case.

Some good news. The restrooms with showers are now open for us to use at the Swim Beach. Thank you to the Clinton State Park for making this possible.

To answer everyone's questions about "is it going to rain". Your guess is as good as mine. We will post updates on course as we get them.

Bone Bender is currently planned to proceed as scheduled with course reroutes as required. Below is our first option if the Blue trail is not usable. The course would consist of the White trails (rocky base that dry quickly and can handle some rain), double track (cross country ski course) and park roads.

We have two other options with each using less single track and more double track/grass.

Check back for updates as we get closer to race day.
